The Pebble shaped handset is made from recycled plastic. It even features eco-friendly features like letting you know how much CO2 emission you have managed to save by choosing not to take your car to the office today.
In addition, there is an "eco-mode" which will optimize Bluetooth, screen brightness and backlight duration. Even the user interface has been designed in such a way that it draws the users' attention to preserving the fragile environment.
The most distinctive feature of the device however is undoubtedly the largish solar panel found at the back of the phone. The panels allow the device to be charged whenever there is sunlight. It will generate enough electricity to make a call even when you have squeezed the maximum out of the battery. Now, that's something we'd love to see!
This is not the first time that a mobile phone manufacturer has played the eco-friendly card to woo buyers. Motorola did the same with its "Renew" that was announced just over a month ago. Sony Ericsson too had shown off its bio-degradable phone concept back in September 2008.
